my son is Maori and grew up in Hokianga. I took him to Kohanga
Reo at two weeks old but once he went to school, language was English. He is not fluent, but intends to speak te Reo Maori to his future children, his partner is also Maori, so if I speak more, my mokopuna will be a more rounded person, with both sides of their ethnicity.
