"It’s now up to tribes to design their own schools of excellence and Kahungunu has done that with our own rangatahi academy called Te Pōkai Tara which is a bunch of youngsters who are already proficient in the language and we take them to another level of excellence and we also teach some of those unique Kahungunu linguistic nuances. So I think it rests with the tribes now. We’ve all been given the template,” Jeremy Tatere Macleod says.
