Tena koe,
I'm a sixty-five year old woman, who lived for three decades in Germany. I grew up in a Maori community. attended a Maori school and got the strap whenever I used Maori in the playground. While I can hear the reo and generally understand what's going on, I'm too hakama to speak. It pains me that I have returned home and speak better German than te reo rangatira. Despite my age, I am hungry to learn the reo of my karanipapa who raised me. I also want to support my nieces, nephews, mokopuna and siblings to get on board this kaupapa.
