Me and my whanau had a hangi last night at my brothers place in Makara. We remembered those who'd past, acknowledged our struggles this year and shared one hope or goal for the new year. We blessed our kai with a karakia and ate together while embracing our culture and our whanau. Woke up early this morning to try and see Matariki which we did but unfortunately I was too excited I left my phone inside! Hopefully capture one tomorrow morning.
