This is our 12 Art History class at Te Kura Tamawāhine o Whakatū/Nelson College for Girls. We only had a small window of time, but we wanted to do something! As part of our Art history studies during the year we have discussed many aspects of our country's history, including colonialism, imperialism and the doctrines of discovery.
We picked "kia kaha" as our phrase because we need to be strong in learning about and acknowledging our history, and in promoting te Reo as an official language in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Our contribution is small but heart felt - Ahakoa he iti, he pounamu!
