Because te reo Māori is a taonga and an official language of Aotearoa. Te tiriti o Waitangi protects and gives Māori the right to practice their tikanga.
I want the crown to recognise the importance of continuing to support the revitalisation of this language and every day not just one week of the year. Māori have the freedom to paint their whare with what ever colour they want, they are given the paint but only given the brushes for one week of the year.
