The year 9 Music option class from Kamo High School performed Pepeha as a band. We did our school Karakia over the instrumental part to remind ourselves of our school values. It was such a meaningful moment to share with our beautiful ākonga.

This is the year 9 music option class at Kamo High School, performing Pepeha by Six60. We learned what pepeha represents and means at the start of the term and presented each other's pepeha in class to introduce ourselves. Then, we picked the instruments we wanted to learn the rhythmic patterns and chords from Pepeha. This is the video from our last band rehearsal. We did our school Karakia during the song's instrumental part to remind ourselves about our school values. We are very proud of what we have achieved this term and excited to learn more waiata to spread the love of learning te reo Māori. Ngā mihi nui!
