I used Te Reo throughout the day in my rest home and with staff members in general conversation and with friends by phone, WhatsApp and text messages; prayed a karakia before meals; posted the Lord's prayer on my facebook page; did some revision of my favourite whakatauki and listened to some of my Maori CDs. . .

Te Reo is an essential part of our ongoing cultural history and one of the three official languages of our country. It is a beautiful sounding language which offers us a depth of understanding in many forms that the English language doesn't quite grasp.
