We begun our video with a inoi whakamoemiti which started at 12pm. We then proceeded to sing our waiata which is based on the whakataukī, "what is the greatest thing in the world? It is people. As we are a Kaupapa Māori based service in Mental Health & addictions, it was purposeful that we sung our 1st waiata based not only on the of the people that we work alongside of, but the importance in acknowledging the hikoi towards their wellbeing. ( : Our 2nd waiata was to mihi to one of our kaimahi who was celebrating her birthday, so sung her the birthday song, and finally, with a waiata which we wanted to sing out to all those who had joined into the Mahuru Māori event.
