He Kōrero mō te Reo – Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2025
He aha te reo Māori ki a au?
Te reo Māori is the backbone. It is resilience. It is pride. It is the voice of my tīpuna echoing through me. I stand tall because of it. I am proud to be Māori, and proud to carry this taonga forward.
He karere ki a au anō ā tōna wā – ki aku mokopuna i te tau 2075:
Keep at it girl, you have got the goods. Let your tīpuna guide you. They are always with you – in your reo, in your mahi, in your heart. Never forget who you are and where you come from.
He wawata mō te reo Māori:
In 2075, I hope te reo Māori is everywhere – spoken, sung, written, and lived. A fully bilingual Aotearoa where te reo is not just celebrated, but normalised. Where every tamaiti hears it daily, and every pakeke uses it proudly.
Ka pēhea te reo Māori e whakakōtahi ai i a Aotearoa ā tōna wā?
Te reo Māori will shape our future through unity and collaboration. It gives us the ability to focus on what is tika – what is right. It connects us to each other, to our whenua, and to our shared story.
He wā whakahirahira i Blanchfield House, Māwhera
For Te Wiki o te Reo Māori this year, we shared kai, imera, laughs, knowledge, and most importantly – time together. This photo is a snapshot of Blanchfield House in Māwhera, where three different organisations cohabitate and uplift te reo Māori in our everyday mahi. It is a reflection of kotahitanga, whanaungatanga, and our shared commitment to a reo that lives and thrives.
"Ko te reo te mauri o te mana Māori."
The language is the life force of Māori identity.
Ngā mihi nui ki Blanchfield House ❤️🖤🤍
