When I was a primary school student, te reo Māori was barely evident in my schooling. I could say kia ora and kei te pehea koe and that was about it. Now I am a primary school teacher and it is evident every day. I made it my goal to become confident in te reo Māori so that I could give all tamariki the opportunity to learn the reo. My hope for our future is that all individuals are respectful to the language and that it blooms. Kia kaha te reo Māori!
