What does te reo Māori mean to you?
• To me te reo māori means speaking our language unapologetically. It means embracing who you are as a Māori with confidence without feeling any shame.
Keeping the reo alive is very important.
• I have a goal for myself to take a te reo maori course and learn how to speak the language myself
• My hope for the future is that Te Pati Māori will win the elections and be running the government instead of this terrible coalition. In the future I hope there are more people speaking the reo than there are now and I hope to see more kura kaupapa & kohanga reo across Aotearoa.
I know you’re 71 years old but don’t give up on yourself. Your daughter, partner & Whānau need you!
