As I have gotten older, I have learnt more about the history of Aotearoa and the importance of Te Ao Māori and Te Reo Māori. I continue to learn about Te Ao and Te Reo because I feel connected to my country. I often feel like it isn't my country, or that I don't belong, but by embracing the Māori culture as an important part of my life, I can feel more connected.
