Kia ora Annabel,
I am currently in my second year of early childhood teacher training. I have been working at Te parekereke o te ki, the bilingual centre at Otago Uni. Working there has sparked my want for learning te reo Māori and I am in the process of joining lessons for my final year of uni. Ive added some photos of the notes I keep handy to use and the kupu we are learning currently. I hope to work in a Puna reo and advance my reo skills further. It means so much to me that these tamariki get to speak their reo and live as they are. I hope we get to succeed! Here are some of my favourite whakataukī, “ehara taku toa i teo takitahi.” And “iti te kupu, nui te kōrero.” I hope I get to see an Aotearoa where Māori is spoken everywhere, everyday.
Aroha nui, Annabel
