Dear Mokopuna,
My hopes and aspirations for you come from this saying.
Kia kaha, kia toa.
Be strong be brave.
I hope in your time te reo māori is everywhere in Aotearoa. Our beautiful culture being preserved and passed on to hopefully your future mokopuna. I hope I have made you proud by fighting for our culture and future rangatahi. Be proud of your culture, you come from great warriors. Thrive with mana, be proud of who you are. I hope in 50 years time all our fighting makes a difference. It has been a long battle now and it should continue to be. It’s not over yet but hopefully in your time it will be. I know you will go on to do great things. I am so proud of you already and I haven’t even met you yet.
P.S above is me and my nanny🩷
Mā te wā, see you in 50 years.
