Kia ora aku mokopuna,
If you are reading this in 2075, know that I love you beyond words. My heart has always been full thinking about the generations that would come after me, and you are the living reminder of the aroha, strength, and wairua that flows through our whānau.
Your Nan Nan has always taught and instilled great values into your parents – values of kindness, connection, respect, and laughter. Weekends together were special times where we would eat, laugh, share stories, and simply enjoy each other’s company. That is how we grew strong as a whānau – through kai, kōrero, and aroha.
We also made sure to meet with Epop and Granma every month, to share those precious moments across generations. The memories created in those times live inside you too, because they are part of the whakapapa you carry.
Live and love life, my beautiful mokopuna. Embrace te reo Māori, keep it alive in your voices and hearts, for it is the breath of our people. Remember always that you are unique, special, and important – because you belong to us, and we belong to you.
Arohanui,
Nan Nan ❤️
