Reo to me means a connection to my roots and a journey of self-discovery. I am in the beginning of my journey and hope to find myself and purpose along the way, not only for myself, but for my daughter who is currently 5. Hearing the language, the waiata and partaking in tikanga makes me feel grounded and extremely proud of my culture. I am currently living in my first kāinga in Bishopdale and I am a kaimahi at the Co-op Bank.
