We are 6M, a year 6 class at Wellesley College in Te-Whanganui-a-Tara. Below are our tūmanako for the future of te reo and tikanga Māori.
We hope that by the year 2075 there are 3 million speakers of te reo Māori across Aotearoa. We hope that all school children have access to learning te reo and that it is normalised.
Currently, te reo Māori is not on Duolingo. We would love to see it added to nurture our learning. Poipoiā te kakano kia puawai.
Lastly, it would be amazing if te reo became so popular that people from around the world began to learn too.
This is our vision for 2075, and we are going to do our part to make it happen.
