Kia Ora, I'm A.K.S.Longson.
Happy 100th anniversary of Te Wiki o Te reo. Has our view about Maori language week changed since 2025? If it comes to that, has our view about Maori language and culture changed? In 2075, Have we undone the work of people like Rua Kenana and Te Whiti? I hope we have instead done the opposite. Maori people deserve equal rights, something our current government is not good at. We should not be calling Pauanui "Big shellfish". Maori language and people are a part of the world we live in, and I say to the people who refuse to accept that:
Deal with it. It has nothing to do with you. Your life is not ruined. It's probably exactly the same. You may not like it, for some reason, but in the long run, It's not going to make your life any worse. It will, however, make their lives better.
