My early years were wasted getting drunk, fighting, trying to be cool and fit in from my early teens to my mid 20s.
Now as a father of three the most precious thing is giving my kids something that I never had which is solid foundations which will allow them to attack this world with open arms and still be a loving person. It also allows me to relive a better version of my childhood through them.
I tell them my truths and let them know everything from my upbringing which will allow them to see the world in a different light.
Pick a great partner to parent your children cause it’s tough out there and so pick wisely so you don’t repeat the cycles, be strong and brave enough to break the cycle.
Don’t be influenced by people, sought out both sides. Don’t stop standing up for what you believe in, be willing to change including your beliefs
Know that you’re own people won’t even have your back so don’t be scared when they don’t support you, you will have to make it big before they claim you as there’s. there is always corruption at the top, the people there often only look out for their own people group (whanau, friends) even Māori and hapū.
To make a change it starts at home within yourself and your own family and your own council and suburb.
Believe in people, uplift people and support them if they are doing things, don’t talk shit behind their backs as clap for them cause they will be clapping when it’s your turn.
Leave the world a better place then when you once came in
