I have lived in a paa for 23 years. My wife's whakapapa is here and I currently work for their trust and was employed as a Taukaea. I have experienced several cultural practices such as being on the paepae , haka powhiri and workshops within my role on the tukutuku team. Learning more about the language would further enhance my development in learning about tikanga and protocols associated with all things Maori. I have tried other avenues of learning but find their ways too time restrictive and pressing.
