Activities

I shared a little Te Reo each day with our resident group at Abbeyfield, as they mostly have limited experience of it. Then I worked on an essay for my Tikanga course through Te Whare Wananga o Aotearoa.

Kia ora. While working at our marae today, one of our colleagues shared a beautiful karakia with my class. We farewelled each other using "Ka kite apopo! " and I went through my mihimihi at home at 12 noon. Tomorrow evening, our Te Ataarangi class are meeting online to continue our Level 1 studies. Nga mihi.

My children and extended whanau are Maori. Also, I work part time at our local marae. I want to be able to understand more when whanau there speak Te Reo to me. They do it unflinchingly and I'm trying hard to get the gist, but don't always succeed!
