Because this is yet another wonderful way of honouring my culture and my whakapapa and tikanga.
I want to show my children how important it is to embrace every opportunity to take part in Kaupapa Maori, as part of our life journey in knowing who we are.

This waiata tautoko has been written for Whānau Āwhina Plunket in celebration of our whakapapa and origin story. It pays tribute to Mere Harper and Ria Tikini and the aspirations of Whānau Āwhina Plunket as we take a pro-equity journey.
This waiata tautoko was created and composed by whaea Sam Murphy-Pirini (Ngā Puāwai Kaiako) and Ngā Puāwai Rūmaki Reo (the total immersion Māori unit) tamariki within Wilford School.
