Kia Ora! We are the music therapy programme at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington. Today at 12 noon we were finishing a class with Waireti Roestenburg, learning about Ihirangaranga, Maori Sacred Sound Science. We were practising sharing words associated with the practice: (e.g. Rongoa; Mahara, ), learnt about Waireti's approach and indigenous practices with music, sound and healing. We sang two Waiata (but not quite at twelve!), "E Rona e" and "Aio Mauritau Aio" (Te Manaaroha Rollo). We will upload our photo shortly.
