I am a student teacher - I use taonga puoro with my music classes. Karakia are standard at the beginning of my class, and I present a new word at each lesson. Tomorrow, I start a new Year 7 rotation, and we will learn kaiwhakatangitangi before I share my pūmoana with them. I use basic commands and greetings with them - it doesn't require a Wiki o te Reo Māori to use the language, and the boys feed back to me that "it's cool we can use it outside the Māori classroom".
