Sally Wilson
Kia ora, ko Sally Kiriahi Wilson ahau. He uri ahau no Tainui, Waikato. Ko Ngati Werewere toku Haapu, ko Ngati Haua raua ko Ngati Wairere oku Iwi. Tena ra koutou katoa. At present, I am learning Te Reo with my Aunty Robyn Roa and her daughter Hariru every fortnight Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm via Zoom. We are learning Kai-a-te-mata Marae Reo Opaki with the focus encompassing our dilect and words and mita of Te Reo from our Hau Kainga. To revitalise the Reo that was spoken by our Tupuna and encourage our Rangatahi, Pakeke and Matua to learn our Reo. I have been on this journey for 3-4 months and I thoroughly enjoy it. I have a yearning, a desire to learn more. Reo has always been with me growing up with my Nana, however I went through a phase where Te Reo was not important at school, in our homes and out in the eye of the public. Going to High School is where it reflamed and the passion became strong. For me the desire to stand and be apart of the 2040 Movement, not only as a Maori, but as a Maori who speaks Te Reo fluently will be my Goal and Dream. Nei ra toku mihi, toku matapono ki Te kaupapa nei. Kia ora.
