Norm Kamira Rangi
I’m a retired Security Coordinator
I was raised primarily in the white orientated system
Me and my younger generation of our family were moved from our rural environs to the city in the late 50s
Totally divorced from our Culture, Beliefs, etc!
Since my early 50s I have been searching for something missing in my life
I thought it was Religion
But I personally believe it includes my LOST Heritage
So now that I am retired I have a personal challenge to learn my Mums language and culture
I now have time to pursue that challenge
I have attended night class at Aorere College, Attended a Te Reo Class at MIT and graduated, My brother in-law tried to help
But all of the above only tickled my curiosity
Reason was no other person in my immediate family were doing the same and I guess I put Te Reo on the back burner
So I have rekindled my wanting to learn
