Activities

Kia ora - my workmates and I each picked something meaningful for us - for me it was revising my te reo Māori learnings from a recent class. Then we came together to share what each of us had done, one had sung a waiata, two had taken the time to complete their pepeha, others had undertaken learnings. We shared our learnings together and celebrated te reo Māori as a group. While none of us identify as Māori, we recognise that te reo Māori is integral and special to this beautiful country we are blessed to live in - it is truly a treasure to be respected and protected. Kia kaha te reo Māori :)

Kia ora! In my workplace Matariki brightened our skies just as we were reflecting on the previous year and planning for the year ahead. At the end of the session we planned a meal together to share kai and opened with the kaikōhau. It really brought the team together :)

There are many reasons I'm learning Te Reo Māori, but the main reason for me is about being part of our beautiful and unique nation. Its about connecting with and better understanding others. If we don't have a solid understanding of each other as a foundation, how can we ever move forward to build a prosperous Aotearoa NZ for us and for the next generation?
