My why in Maoridom is everything... My very existence has always been about who I am and where I fit in this world...
Sadly I learnt my Reo in high school/ tertiary studies which has fallen off over the years. Now in the latter part of my life, we speak and encourage it daily in my mahi and home.
I am a primary school teacher and encourage our students to embrace their native language and make it part of who they are.
As am I.
