I find singing in te reo is a little more forgiving - it makes me feel a bit braver to try . However, singing - for other people to hear - is also not my thing, so I dug deep, lol. Integrated learning going on here, te reo and trying out clipchamp to make this little video. Kia pai te rā :-) Alison *The credits for the instrumental music can't be seen at the end of the video, here it is: Te Aroha (Instrumental) from https://www. youtube. com/watch?v=hIoQfYMWb4A

This is one of my favourite whakatauki. Tuia te Rangi e tū iho nei Tuia te Papa e tākoto nei Tuia te tangata e noho nei Eke panuku, tuia ki a tina. As the Earth and Sky work together, as a people we all work together.

Room 20 recorded Whakatauki to share with each other :)

I choose this whakatauki as it is so important during lockdown. We must look after our people and papatūānuku to look after our future.

Our kura, Blockhouse Bay Intermediate, held an open Google Meet where everyone who was able to attend, joined us to sing Purea Nei. This was an exercise in patience, persistence and comedy! Over the 36 minute "meeting" we had 318 kaimahi (kaiako, kaiawhina, me tumuaki tuarua) me ākonga join in with us! Wēkeneru it was insane and hilarious! I'd upload a video but . . . I'm technologically challenged!

Te reo is unique, it is special, it is beautiful, and it is endangered. Together we have a responsibility to keep it alive. Ehara Taku Toa I Te Toa Takitahi Engari He Toa Takimano My strength is not that of an individual but that of the collective
