We held a noho Marae with some of our tauira. Te celebrate 'Te wiki o te reo Māori', tauira played a kemu called "I te timatanga. . . " So much fun and laughter had by all. Mauri ora!

Kia ora, Ko tenei te wero o ngā tauira tuarua ki Te Whanganui-ā-Tara a Te Rito Maioha ECNZ. Te ingoa o te wero, ko Pepeha a Six60. Kia kaha te reo Māori koutou mā. As part of our "Te Wiki o te reo Māori" celebrations and due to Covid19, we had to take our Noho Marae online. Here is my Te Whanganui-ā-Tara Stage 2 students from Te Rito Maioha ECNZ doing Six60's waiata Pepeha in sign language. Ngā mihi maioha, Stacey

Te Rito Maioha are committed to ensure we as an organisation are holding the mana of Kahungunu through singing the popular waiata written and composed back in the 1950's by Canon Wiremu Te Tau Huata. All staff and students will be singing the correct version and actions of this waiata throughout this month.

We are one of five kapa haka groups of Te Rito Maioha Early childhood who met on zoom/hui topa to waiata Tūtira mai in support of the kaupapa.
