Our wāhine ātaahua, Darcie Price, presented a wonderful workshop on Matariki Hunga Nui - Matariki the Gatherer of People to encourage participants to find ways to celebrate Matariki in their homes and communities. We are posting an idea from the workshop each day this week in the lead up to 14 July. Mānawatia a Matariki!

Thanks for introducing me to Kaikōhau - expressions of hope are very much a part of contemporary ceremonies. We'll share your video with our students. To encourage people to celebrate Matariki, one of our team did a presentation to the recent Celebrants Aotearoa conference and we are posting an idea for people to do with their families, each day this week leading up to 14 July Matariki holiday.

I enjoyed singing some new waiata and took part in daily work discussions

Kia ora. Rather than hold a single event this year, we encouraged our alumni to participate in any way they chose. About 36 reported that they had. My little lockdown bubble did an intro to greetings, answering the phone, and describing feelings. We are continuing to practise these words.
