Tekau mā Tahi put together a Te Wiki o te Reo Māori task board that we could share with other classes around the school. We talked about the different tasks we could do to inspire other tamariki to learn Te Reo. We used the titles from the Māori language digital task board that was shared with teachers. (Whakarongo, Waiata, Kōrero, Tākaro, Pānui and Ako) students also added two more titles of their choice. We can't wait to test these out on other classes :)

Year 5 & 6 doing a karakia kai at Greytown School

Rūma whitu have been listening to wonderful waiata, we have been practicing our pronunciation - doing 5 sentences a day, doing the STUFF daily te reo quiz and using our te reo Māori.

This video is from a little later in the day! We are learning the difference between 'koe', 'kōrua', and 'koutou'. At 12pm we listened to a story in te reo Māori while we ate our kai. Today we also played a kahoot quizzing our te reo! We have learned a new game "I have. . . who has" with 25 kupu that are kai themed! We are trying to beat our time every time we play. Every morning we start our day with a paepae and try to have 10 minutes of full immersion te reo. This includes saying our pepeha, school karakia and singing waiata. The tamariki run the paepae by themselves.

Rooms 11 & 12 playing a Te Reo Māori kahoots quiz!

Room 10 playing Kahoot - we did 3 Kahoots - one was based around colours and two on general knowledge.
