This is a video of Paniah and her older sister Kyrah-Lee singing a Māori waiata called Hutia te rito te harakeke. Paniah is a student at Clendon Park School in our bilingual unit called Te Whanau Āwhina. Shes in Akomanga 23 and I'm her teacher - Matua Carter. She is 6 years old and loves learning Māori. As part of the Māori moment challenge, I challenged my students to sing this waiata at 12pm, record it and send it to me. Paniah was the first to send her video to me.
