Tēnā tātou. . Ko David Kopa tēnei, Nō Ngāpuhi nui tonu oku tūpuna. I whanau mai au i Otaua, i tupu ake au i Taranaki. E noho ana au ki Kaikohekohe. Tēnā koutou katoa.

with my children being Ngati Maniapoto I will be reading all my te reo maori books and study guides I've collected over the years from te Wānanga Aotearoa gaining the knowledge and also speaking it to my children's teachers on the day both at preschool and primary school and continue at home also, it resonates strong with the heritage and being able to pass it on to my children truly means alot to me being pakeha and nz born having the connection is such a treasure

As a māori i feel i have a responsibility to myself to connect in every aspect of te ao māori but not just for me but for the future generations to come. And to make sure we as māori will always have a place in te ao

Kia ora To celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, my Tamariki and I will be leaving the Māori Channel on all week. My pēpī & I are attending her kindergarten Disco this Thursday night to celebrate. And my personal goal Karakia every morning. Mauri Ora!

Kua tuku kē :)

Here is a pikitia of some of my ākonga and I. We recited over a karakia they're learning while we waited for the live to kick off however, as there were technical issues we carried on with our class encouraging tauira to only speak Reo Māori during this time. We also watched the video of the movement to date (from last years Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori) and it definitely brought up strong feelings, hakaaro, and touched the hearts of all in many ways - Familiar faces in the kiriata, the movement it self - our progress and the support we all often need in our leanring journey when the going gets tuff. Mauri ora!
