Ko Maungatapu ko Parapara ko Taranaki oku maunga.
Ko Maitahi ko Parapara oku awa.
Ko Kurahaupo ko Tokumaru oku waka.
Ko Te Atiawa ko Ngati Tama ko Taranaki oku iwi.
Ko Kaitangata ko Ngati Haupoto oku hapu.
Ko Whakatu ko Onetahua oku marae.
Ko Whakatu toku kainga ināianei.
Ko Aramoana du Feu toku ignoa.
For my #ReoMāori moment, I sang a Waiata.
Korukutia by Hollie Smith and Don McGlashen.
Then I mātakitaki (watched) the Māori history stream on the Reo Maori youtube channel.
Followed by whakarongo (listened) to the new Lorde album, Te Ao Marama.
I have always grown up māori, but am only now in life embracing my identity. Embracing Te Reo Māori and seeing the mahi that we all in Aotearoa need to be a part of, to keep Te Reo and Te Ao Māori strong.
Kia kaha te reo māori!
