For Te Wiki o te Reo Māori week, my hoa mahi got together for a couple of hours to celebrate the culture and language of the Māori people.
We had a shared kai of boil-up and Rēwena bread bread. We started the bread on Monday and each day learned about the process of making it and it's traditions in Māori culture.
We celebrated a collague's huritau with keke and a waiata.
It was a beautiful sunny day so took the opportunity to:
- whakarongo ki nga manu
- pai ki te ra
- takaro keemu including pétanque and croquet
We have labelled numerous objects throughout the office with te Reo and we concluded the event with a pātaitai of these items.
