Our mahi
Every year, the Year 11 Drama students from Kerikeri High School create a theatre piece for the local Kerikeri Kindergarten.
This is an incredible experience for the student actors, as they have to craft and create a piece of theatre for a specific audience. The actors work with the Year 12 Entertainment and Event Technology students.
In 2023, the Kindergarten asked for the piece to be shaped around Māori legends and include te reo.
The Year 11 students submit this work for their L1 pilot assessment.
The Year 12 students gain credits for the work they do backstage.
We were fortunate to have the assistance of Matūa Jordan Westerlund as advisor for Te Reo and Mātauranga Māori.
