I am in my senior years. My mother was Māori and my father English and as a child I never learned my mothers tongue. After living in Australia I returned to NZ and eventually took up a course with TWoA at Canning Crescent in Mangere to learn Te Reo.
I LOVE my language with a passion, and I'm not a great speaker but I am learning and for me now this will be a lifelong journey. I feel proud that I can now converse in te reo comfortably enough to be understood. It is a privilege to speak our beautiful language.
