I re-established contact with my te reo Maori kaiako to tell her of the challenges I have being surrounded by some friends and family who have negative attitudes to te reo Maori and with some, towards Maori people.
It is hard for me as a Pakeha who wants to learn as much as I can Tikanga Whakaaro and te reo Maori to hear this negativity and not have assertive responses.
