Kia ora koutou. Ko Holly taku ingoa. Nō Canada au. He ringatoi ahau e noho ana i Maungawhau i Tāmaki-makau-rau.
I have had the great privilege to live here in Aotearoa for close to 30 years. So privileged I obviously didn’t feel the need to learn the indigenous language of this land and it’s people. Shame on me. So I have been taking night classes this year, and hope to continue on the journey of learning te Reo Maori, and hopefully be able to have a proper kōrero some day. It’s such a beautiful language, so full of grace and meaning, so much more than words and sounds, it’s deeply rooted in the people, the spirit, the stories, and the land of Aoetearoa.
