My parents are visiting from Invercargill whom we haven't seen for 6 months so took this opportunity to learn the kaikōhau:
Nau mai ngā hua
Nau mai ngā pai
Nau mai kia nui
Kia hāwere ai
Welcome all things that have grown
Welcome all things that are good
May they be plentiful and abundant
I recited the kaikōhau for them before we then enjoyed our kai together with my husband who is unfortunately cut out of the size of the photo.
An enjoyable evening ensued......
