I'm a secondary school physics teacher, and at noon we stopped our work, stood up and sang "Te Taukaea o Te Aroha". We also talked about how this waiata was from our local iwi (Ngai Tahu) and how the Māori Language Petition was the beginning of teaching te reo in schools.
