Jude - Porirua

I was too busy participating in Kapa Haka to take a photo or video! As a whakangungu kaiako/student teacher it was the first time I had been at the school I am learning how to be a kaiako at. The Kapa Haka kaiako was amazing! He was so positive and encouraging. He had over 100 children and 8 adults totally enthralled. I have seen a number of kapa haka kaiako and he is tino kino te pai. He was teaching the kids Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah Chorus, in Maori, Ngati Toa's Ka Mate Haka(hakahttps://www.tepapa.govt.nz/discover-collections/read-watch-play/maori/watch-ka-mate-haka-performed-ngati-toa-rangatira) and telling the story behind it; teaching us how to pronounce local words correctly and so so so much more. I don't think I have ever smiled or had so much fun since I fell off a tandem into a ditch when singing and doing crazy actions with my sister when we were 12. The Kapa Haka Kaiako is awesome. Ka mau te wehi!
