I support te reo Māori and Māori culture in Aotearoa and want it to be part of everyday life. Te reo Māori and Māori culture are unique to Aotearoa. They are a taonga. We should look after them. They are important to us as a nation and our place in the world.
I also believe language learning is valuable in itself and should be part of schooling from a young age, as a way to support diverse thinking and openness about different cultures.
