I sang this with my Mum in the early 60’s but after spending a while in Australia it’s taken longer to embrace Te Reo Maori since returning.
She knew German words to one of the Maori tunes I played, and we would both sing our version. She didn’t know German (her father was fluent) and I didn’t know Maori! But she was borne in Ngaruawahia so encouraged the connection I felt.
It’s easier to learn this year with so many resources and so much encouragement ♥️
