Nõku te waimarie!!!

Due to Level 2 restrictions we couldn't all gather together in one space so ... Ngā Uri ā Tāne (our newly established Māori unit) and Tutamoe (our whānau class) made a Tik Tok video to Rob Ruha's - Ka Hao AND over the speaker system, I greeted the rest of the school in Te Reo Māori and thanked them for participating (400+ people) in this historic event for our language ... then played Pere Wihongi's - Mahuru Māori!!!! I couldn't see the whole school, but everyone in the office was dancing and so was I! So proud of Dargaville High School!

And that's just what we did for the moment! Our taiohi came to us with a plan of what they wanted to do over the whole week - so of course we couldn't say no! We have karakia 3x a day over the speaker system, we're having a school wide Māori Kahoot game tomorrow, Interhouse Quiz and Sports Challenges (including Kī O Rahi) and sooooo much more!!!
