Lee | Maori Language Moment 2021

Photo of Lee | Maori Language Moment 2021

I created a Wharewhare game that can be played online. I shared the resource with as many of my friends and family as I could before the Māori Language Moment. We played this with my work colleagues. We had a good turnout - 40 people all playing remotely, it was really good because they are all in Level 4 lockdown in Auckland. The photos are from a kura in Gisborne, one of my friends kindly sent me photos and I was given permission to use them. The cards are all Kia kaha te reo Māori themed and they contain a mix of numbers, colours, animals, clothing, days of the week and months of the year, there are 80 items in total.

There is one instructor/caller that sets up the game and sends the link out to all the players. The instructor can see everyone's cards and can check when someone calls wharewhare if their card is correct. This can be played on any device, even a mobile phone.
