Kia Ora Koutou,
Ko Leini Laumua toku ingoa. I am writing on behalf of my workplace, Barnardos Mungavin ELC, Porirua.
In the morning we greet the children and their families with Kia Ora, Tena koe or Morena followed by kei te pehea koe.
During the day, children and adults use directions in Te Reo ie. haere ki te wharepaku, homai te pukapuka…etc
At mat time we choose waiata from our waiata wall, today “ I runga te rākau” and choose a pukapuka, today we chose “How Maui found his father and the magic jawbone” with discussion.
Next is lunchtime, where we horoi te ringaringa and then e noho for karakia to give thanks before we eat.
The afternoon will continue in this fashion.
This is our daily contribution as well as our celebration of Te wiki o Te Reo Māori.
Ka kite a popo and haere rā 😊
