I am saying Kaikohau to myself in Te Reo Maori, English, and Chinese every morning when I wake up. The Chinese translation is very elegant and beautiful! Yesterday, I went to Blue Oyster Art Project Space in Dunedin for Turumeke Harrington's exhibition "Special Time (Ehara i te ti)". The artist and the gallery offered us shared kai for celebrating Matariki after the talk. We had food from Wai Tai, Waiti, Tupuanuku, and Tupuarangi. It was the best meal I had this year. And I think the prayer of Kaikohau works. It will be a year of hope and abundance. This is not a moment of Matariki I created, but it is definitely a moment that Matariki offered to my life.
